- Verdicts are opinions. A YES, KINDA or NOT REALLY is our editorial judgment about whether an open-source project can replace a paid tool for most people. It is not professional, legal or financial advice. Check a project yourself before you cancel anything that matters to you.
- Facts can lag. Prices, free tiers, star counts, licenses and self-hosting notes are gathered from public sources and updated on a best-effort basis. When they disagree with the vendor or the project's own repository, those win.
- Open-source projects are their own thing. We link to projects we don't run. Their licenses, security, support and roadmaps are theirs. Read the license before you build a business on it.
- Trademarks. Product names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify the products being discussed. No endorsement is implied in either direction.
- Accounts and votes. Signing in, saving a stack and voting are free. Don't automate votes, scrape at a rate that hurts the site, or submit entries you know to be false. We may remove content or accounts that do.
- No warranty. The site is provided as-is. We are not liable for decisions you make based on it, including migrations that go wrong.
- Changes. We may update these terms; the date above is the current version.
