GlitchTip
★ 359Sentry-API-compatible error tracking that stays small: your existing Sentry SDKs point at it unchanged, but it runs happily on a $5 VPS.
GlitchTip does the job of Sentry (SaaS), self-hosted. It is MIT-licensed, so you can do essentially what you like with it, and it installs in about one command. Sentry (SaaS) bills $26/mo for it.

Is it actually a replacement?
We have not written a verdict on Sentry (SaaS) yet, so this page says what GlitchTip is rather than judging what you would give up. When that product gets a page, this one will link to it.
How GlitchTip runs
Where it runs
GlitchTip runs on your machine or their cloud.
Installing it
Hosted signup, or Docker Compose with PostgreSQL; Helm and managed one-click hosts are also documented.
Where your data lives
Hosted events live in GlitchTip's US or EU service; self-hosted issue and event data live primarily in PostgreSQL, with persistent file/object storage used for uploads such as source maps.
What setup takes
Self-hosting starts with Docker plus PostgreSQL 14+, environment secrets and a reverse proxy/TLS; email and optional Valkey add more configuration.
The catch compared with Sentry
It covers errors and basic performance monitoring but has fewer mature debugging controls, integrations, session-replay capabilities and high-scale operational tooling than Sentry.
